Monday Stock Blog: Well, kind of...

The SHOP camera has decided it doesn't want to go to work today, so no lovely stock pictures to share this week :-(

However, we did happen to take two pictures of the SHOP at the end of last week, so you can just admire those and maybe the eagle-eyed among you can pick out something new :-)

Oh, and there's also some 80s theatre programmes we forgot to put in last weeks...

Get with the programme!

Monday Stock Blog: Men's and Women's jumpers and tops (Yes, we know it's sunny!)!

Summer maybe poking it's head around the clouds, but SHOP answers to no season!

Imagine you're out in the park, having a great time, - laughing and joking with your friends - when suddenly as the sun goes behind a cloud, the temperature drops *GASP* ... you are definitely going to need a jumper for this occasion, or a light jacket, or a warm top, or a cardigan...

Where's me jumper?!

Jacket required

Got nothing but my t-shirt on.

Mellow Yellow.

Whiter shade of pale.

May Newsletter!

As promised, after the quiet of April, comes the kicking and screamingness of May - with the extra-specialnessness of the return of an old SHOP favourite!

SHOP has had a little bit of a face lift during April: not only have we got ourselves some lovely new items of furniture, but we also LITERALLY had the face of SHOP lifted off - to replace some of those 500 year old rotten timbres! It all looks right good.

As for this month: the brilliant 'Speed Languaging' event we had in April is returning, along with, not one, but two, TMT baking workSHOPs! Oh! and, of course, we have another exhibition in the Art Space. Pretty good, huh?! That's not it...

AND finally, for those of you who cry yourselves to sleep at night, or huddle close to other SHOP-Club members, still unable to come to terms with the harsh reality of having no more SHOP Cinema in your life to give it it's meaning, you can dry those tears ... because (if it's not obvious) ... IT'S BACK! Yep! You heard right. See below for all the exciting details...

There are still some OTHER exciting plans we need to tell you about, but that's your fill for now.

Monday Stock Blog: The BIG furniture with the little homeware.

Since we started regularly stocking furniture, at the beginning of the year, we've had our eyes and ears open, honing our side-board spotting skills and sharpening our finding of nests-of-tables in haystacks.  It's been a learning process for us here at SHOP towers and we're pleased to say we've found some gold over the past few months (and we do say so ourselves) and the large pieces we've got in this week are no exception.

We've also got a couple of bits of homeware in...

The Owl and the ... lamp ... and the book.

Partaaaaay!

Blamanche all round!

Side-board, drinks cabinet and handsome with it!

Dining table - complete with 'choose your own adventure' breakfast scene.

S-s-s-s-s-s-s-stereogram! Yikes!

Event: Speed Languaging!!

This Thursday, just gone, saw the first Speed Languaging evening at SHOP ... and it certainly won't be the last!

The workSHOP was run by CSAQ resident and good friend of SHOP, Karen Stokes and is based on the concept of 'Speed Dating'. Confident English speakers and those wanting to learn, are given separate coloured name badges and then during a timed period (marked by a bell to stop and start) chat to another member of the group (with the opposite colour name badge) using only English.

The emphasis was on fun and there was a forum for best joke and a prize for the best listener after a small quiz. If that wasn't enough, Karen also provided a shedload of delicious food for free!

We really hope these evenings will become a regular event on the SHOP calendar.
